いざ出発！を目の前に、さっそく集合場所を間違えたトムトム。走ってきたのか、ふたりが出会ったときにはトムトムの額に汗がキラリ。なんとか新幹線に乗り込み、最初の目的地にレッツゴ！
TomTom was upset that MoriMori didn’t tell him which gate to meet at. But soon after, they made up and MoriMori saw him sweating. Eventually the Shinkansen came, and they were off to their first destination.
JR 指宿の たまて箱
鹿児島中央駅から指宿駅へ
「浦島太郎伝説」からネーミングしたという特急列車「指宿のたまて箱」に乗り込むふたり。窓からは鹿児島の象徴、桜島が！列車とすれ違うとき、地元の人たちがいっぱい手を振ってくれました。きもちいいっ！
The guys hopped on an old fashioned train named Tamatebako from Kagoshima station to Ibusuki. On the train there was a great view of Sakurajima. Even though they could not take a picture, when the train passed by the people living in this area, they kindly waved their hands at us!
砂むし温泉
脈打つ身体！
「生きたまま埋められるなんて夢にも思わなかった」そう言うのはトムトム。スコップで砂をかけられると、体中に心臓がいくつもあるように脈打つのが分かります。このまま永遠に眠りたいと思いました。
TomTom couldn’t believe he was going to be buried alive. MoriMori joined in the relaxation and both said that they could feel their pulse all over their bodies from the pressure of the sand. Guys hoped to sleep in the sand forever.
昼食「青葉」
名物「温たまらん丼」
温たまらん丼とは、指宿産の野菜や黒豚などをごはんの上にのせ、源泉で温めて作った半熟たまごをトッピングしたもの。甘辛のたれと絡まって、その名の通りついつい口走ってしまう言葉があります。「たまらん！」
Next was lunch at Aoba, which is an Ontamarandon restaurant, the famous food for the area that uses eggs boiled in hot springs and vegetables from the local area. TomTom said it was one of his favorite dishes so far. The taste was tamaran.
スイーツ「ケーキハウス・アンデルセン」
指宿は空豆の生産量が全国一位
食後のデザートにやってきたのは、珍しい空豆モンブランが食べられる「アンデルセン」。空豆は指宿で採れたものを使用。空豆ペーストの絶妙な甘さときたら！こりゃたまらん！あ、違った。
The guys had dessert at Anderson where their specialty is a snack called Soramame Monburan. The green topping is made from Soramame grown around the region. They were almost going to say ‘Tamaran’ again!
長崎鼻
薩摩半島の最南端、長崎鼻へ
ドライブにもってこい！ふたりのツーショットの間にそびえ立つのは、「薩摩冨士」の異名を持つ「開聞岳」。砂むし温泉以外にも、指宿に来たときには、ぜひ旅のコースに加えてみてはいかが？
The drive towards Nagasakibana seemed tropical. TomTom and MoriMori pose for a picture with Kaimondake in-between them. It looks a lot like a smaller version of Mount Fuji-san. It’s sad that many visitors come to Ibusuki just only for Sunamushi Onsen.
竜宮神社
一日の終わりは竜宮神社で
長崎鼻には浦島太郎伝説地のひとつとして有名な竜宮神社があります。境内には浦島太郎を竜宮城へといざなった亀の模様も！夏になるとウミガメが浜辺に産卵しにくるらしいですよ！
At Ryugu Shrine the boys learned the story of Urashima Taro. By the purification station, they saw turtles in the pavement that represent the turtles that took Urashima to the kingdom below the sea. There were turtles everywhere!
